@911Dagur I would just like to point out that it is not lack of regulation that is the problem, but rather the fact that governments are actually guaranteeing the deposit of money into banks that are then using the money for their investments. When (very predictably) banks get into problems, the governments always helps them. This creates a moral hazard. If one bank does not play, it will loose all customers. Who wants to pay for a savings account when you can get interests from others.

@audveltadmuna I wouldn't say the bank stole it from them. The deal is pretty transparent, and everyone knows that banks are not holding on to your money, but rather lending it out to risky business. If people want safety, they can't require interests from their banks, but must rather pay for having an account.

The people who want you to pay are just greedy bastards, and they are the thieves who want to use your governments law and police force to make you pay.

I think UK should give Indians, native americans, native australians, native new zealanders and etcetera back the money and things they stole from them... British people are most likely going to say that it was not their choice to take that from them and they weren't even alive,

but why do i (an icelander) have to pay alot money to the UK because some men from Iceland stole it from them? i'm only 14 and i didn't even know about these banks!

@AndreasAntoniusMaria incompetence does not describe it right ...lack of regulation is more like it. The men taking our money do not care about their reputation or about our lives ... they thrive only on getting more and more for themselves.
