Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens

Chickens will scratch the wood and over time the durability will deteriorate; which will in turn make it necessary to make a new coop, whereas plastic is tougher against chickens and thier predators. In the interest of the chickens - plastic is the best choice.

they "lool" very happy! nice set up! i was considering an eglu but they're wayyyy too small for all my dang chickens! :P

if you buy one of these eglu coops you wont have any problem with the council. I made a lovely chicken coop for my hens but council didn't like, so i bought one of this eglu second hand, I made a nice setup of eglu coop with some grass underneath the wire net, when the officer came for next inspection he couldn't find any excuse, all he said, this is acceptable. I personally advice this coop if you live in residential area and love to have a few hens in the backyard.

LOL good comeback! :)

for what they are, yes. it is. but what i love about them is they are so easy to clean. sort of like a hamsters cage! just spray some disinfectant on it and hose it down! then you're set to go!
it's also safer for the chickens and yourself (no splinters! yay!)

piss off you barbarian.
to make a comment as stupid as that is bad enough, but to even mention KFC is repulsive.
you obviously don't have any idea about the welfare aspect of their chickens. it's horrendous.
now...go down to your local KFC and order your usual. then post a video of yourself digging into a box of processed garbage on youtube. i can't wait to see how ugly, fat and greasy you'll look XD....actually no, on second thoughts. don't. it will damage my eyes.

thats ok the eglu is insulated

lol i am getting the eglu with 2 gingernut ranger hens in it
how did you like it? did it work

If you can afford it, there's no doubting that eglus are great.
I can't afford it, and I have far too many pullets to fit in there. My coop is made from recycled wood, but it's not unhygienic, I use a spray bottle of disinfectant weekly, and treat the wood once a year. It's virtually maintenance free, but it doesn't hurt if something needs attention, because I love spending time with my girls :)
about how much is the eglu?
