~ Share the land ~

Canadian Artist Burton Cummings performs this popular melody with pictures of the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics!!

Spectacular scenes of an event the world is watching! Probably the most colourful video I've ever created... although unplanned (but love the colours!)

Along with the excitement comes great sadness - extending sympathy to Georgian Luger Nodar Kumaritashvilli's family and team. Much sorrow for the athletes and viewers at this tragic time.

  • He sure still has the vocals.

Thanks for posting this RoryNights. So many of our Canadian "oldtimers" have still got it.

This song takes me back to some of the fine & wonderful people who I have shared my life with.

  • Its great when songs take us back to good memories. I'm glad you enjoyed this ValsHere.. and your most welcome. His voice is still super, some of his more recent performances/videos are on his website as you probably know.. and for those who want to find it.. go through my 'Burton Cummings' playlist.. some awesome stuff there! • A young fellow 'tried' to sing American Woman on American Idol this week. I had to walk away from the tv. There's only one man who can sing that! :-)

  • @ 2: 12.....In the Olympics they compete as Great Britain but in World Cup soccer they compete as England, Scotland, Wales etc. ......please explain ?

  • If I'm not mistaken, this is the version of the song from his "Up Close and Alone" CD...

  • @ValsHere Burt is one of the best that has ever lived, the rockin' piano, his awesome voice. It just really doesn't get any better than this....

  • This song grows on the listener I would think. What a great melody. And great piano

voice and lyrics. I love this live version. Just as great as any studio version. THIS IS TIMELESS!!! FANTASTIC!!! LOVE EVERY LICK. WAYNE

  • Unbelievable!

  • What can't you like about this man! 2000 years ago... Burton would've been a God!

  • Wow Burton you recorded this song 40 years ago and your voice is not much different now , I saw the clip of share the land from Canadian Idol they did well but they couldn't reach the high notes you did 40 years ago but its great to see Canadian Idol embraced your song and the young kids too,you truly great for your age may the good spirits be with you.

  • I love hearing this song with just you and the piano; it's interesting to hear the chord structure and blending without all the other instrumentation drowning it out !! Your voice sounds exquisite, as always. Thank you !!!!!! ( Comment is directed to Mr. Cummings, of course )

  • I'm wondering the same thing as prckay — i.e., at what venue he sang it. Was it at the games, and if not, then where? Thanks in advance! :-D
