Otherside of Life is masterful. To me it is. And I love Quiet Life. But perhaps to David it's all below what it could've been.
People forget that a band is like any other experience, so when you look back on past projects (very much like looking back on life) it often strikes you that where you once found perfection, a few years on reveals itself as a flaw.
All he's doing is giving the new work a break. And he did mention the quality of Japan buried under the image. So he recognized it.

David is mr serious to the point of it being scary. The level he hates Japan's music really bothers me because it was mostly great.

@sprintbass do you mean part of new romantic movement? From what I understand they distanced themselves from any of that.
Karn has stage 4 cancer unfortunately. He must of had it for a long time but only revealed his diagnosis until recently, really sad.

if there was an image thing going on, he certainly seemed to be a part of that movement...I think it came down to he wanted to do it all himself..and if you listen to the differnt directions of karn and sylvian its very interesting...Karn has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer sadly..
