There had been land disputes and disputes over money and other silly things, but this is normal and it happens between Muslims and Muslims and Christians and Christians, but this is no way has anything to do with "persecution of Christians".
I am a Bethlehemite that was born and lived in Bethlehem. Christians over there get along very well with Muslims more than any other place in the Middle East, and we also get along with Jews who come visit our schools during the school year from Israel.
