I was not that lucky to hear Ali Akhbar Khan Saheeb in his younder days, but have been lucky enough to listen to his existing recordings. This chap seems to be following his dad's footsteps .. looks like he will go miles ..

I am one of the thousands of students of the Late Khan Sahib. Watching Aalam Khan play the sarod warms my heart. He is good... very good. His father would be proud.

I also did not get a chance to personally hear Ustad Ali Akbar Khansaheb, but after listening to many recordings I can understand why people called him a genius. Many sons and daughters of legendary musicans simply lack this one mysterious quality which allows them to succesfully carry on the tradition of their parents. Here is such a man who I believe is rightfully the succesor to khansaheb and truly can carry his legacy.
