linval thompson appearing on "later... with jools holland" in 2004. he performs "don't cut off your dreadlocks" to the studio crowd and viewing audience. also on the same show appeared junior murvin and johnny clarke. most number of reggae acts performing live on one bbc television show?

THIS IS A WELL WATERED DOWN VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL. Linval is a hard core, heavy duty, roots singer/producer but obviously this performance is catering for the 'rock' audience. Just like the Wailers and other bands (from that era) felt the need to dilute their roots music to make it more palatable to the 'rock' audience. The original produced roots rockers music was and still is considered (by some)to be too strong and powerful for the 'top of the pops' type people.

This version is a little more "light", but it still sounds well nice. Linval sounds phenomenal either way.
