Work Song-- Nat Adderley (performed by Zeke & John)

Our interpretation of this jazz standard.

This song, like the two that followed it, were all recorded at the Recording Arts Department of Los Medanos College (Pittsburg, CA), where both Zeke and I are studying music.

We happened to be both enrolled in a class where we were slated to perform a guitar/organ duo for an end-of-semester concert in December, 2009.

In the meantime, we had some rehearsing to do in early November to prepare, and we had taken to one of the practice rooms in the music building hallway. While doing so, someone from the recording arts class walked down the hall and happened to see us rehearsing. He said the band that was supposed to come in that night (to be their guinea pig), canceled out at the last minute. He asked if we'd be willing to fill in. We didn't really have our material down pat-- as our obligation was still a month away, but we said sure, why not... and gave it our best shot.

We each got to keep copies of the CD that the 3 songs were recorded on, and I used that CD as the audio for these YouTube uploads.
