This is a video of me talking about Chi and what it is, at least what it is to me.

  • sounds like chi was just a way of explaining and developing the unification of body mechanics and flow when they didn't have a medical explanation of the nervous system so it would be really useful to practice what you're calling the bone level, muscle level and so on for any martial art, even non-classical ones

  • @urahararocking That's my sense of it anyway, at least as the word is used in martial arts. I find the bone, muscle, energy (and spirit, which I didn't talk about in this video) model to be a very useful model. Actually "all is one" so these levels do not exist, but as a learning tool, I think it's great and yes can be applied to all kinds of things including music: learn the basic piece (b), learn to play it smoothly (m), play it with feeling (e) and then just be one with it (s) and so on...

  • i don't do tai chi but i got a lot out of this video, some of which made me think of the way i move when i dance. great stuff!

  • @Liteboyiam Awesome! T'ai-Chi principles can be applied anywhere and I love it when people can find value in them outside the art of T'ai-Chi Ch'uan which is really just one way to express them. Dance on. ;~)
