UNIFIL, Camp Grotle, South Lebanon:
In 1986, a serious confrontation between French UNIFIL troops and members of the Shiite movement Amal highlighted the precarious nature of peace keeping. As a response UN established
'FMR' - Force Mobile Reserve.

The Sisu Pasi is a Finnish made six-wheeled armoured personnel carrier (APC) originally designed for Finnish Defence Forces. The first version was produced in 1983 and serial production began in 1984. The Sisu Pasi has in addition to Lebanon seen service in several conflict areas, including Afghanistan, Bosnia, Croatia, Eritrea, Golan Heights, Kosovo, the Republic of Macedonia and Namibia [Wikipedia].

  • Norwegian Foreign Service at its best. I think there are many people down there, that remember the Norwegian forces fondly and miss our presence now that we are gone.
