Fun fact:
Orwell was a Socialist.
1984 is not about how evil socialism is but how Stalinism and Fascism are evil.
Animal Farm is about how the heads of the communist party twisted the original vision of Marx and ended up being exactly the same as the unjust tyrant they overthrew.

Orwell even fought with the POUM in the Spanish Civil war and was very sympathetic to the cause of the Liberterian-Socialist CNT
