@wwaallee1 I dont know what "Wola" is. D-12 is a name of a whole family, that includes over9000 modifications of that engine. And yes they are full-alloy, but some models produced with iron block. Two cams in each head. First prototypes of that engine developed before WW2 for airplanes-soviet heavy bombers "DB".That diesel airplanes bombed Berlin in 1941.Later this diesel used in famous t-34 tank. Sorry for my english.

It's a vertical pumpjack for oil drilling.
I've only seen one vid but it got taken down. I was raised in an oil patch so i have a fascination for anything drilling. (ha)
The vid was called Giraffe unit Siberia but it's not here anymore.
This is a w2-300 engine. The same was mounted in russian t-34 tank. About 500bhp @ 1500rpm, no turbochargers. It was designed to russian bombers. They was build since 1930's and its hard to believe but the are -direct injected, double over head camshaft, 4 valves per cylinder. Very light alumminium cylinder block and heads. 1930's....

@jakuzjelcza spoceba, for the info - it is nice to know what I was looking at. Those old Russian engines were awesome. To start them sub in -35C temps, they would ensure diesel was not gelled, the coolant would be drained and replaced with warm water, bring a small fully charged battery out of a warm shack, hook it all up, turn the key and it would fire up in 1 rotation of the flywheel, put a load on it in 5 minutes and then work it till next service. Very impressive
