Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob Smith bookend this 1950s animated commercial for Kellogg's Rice Krispies, one the sponsors of the popluar HOWDT DOODY televsion show. Rice Krispies were first test marketed in 1927 and then offered to consumers at large in 1928. Thei famous "snap - crackle - and pop" sound is the result of the crisped rice grains (--a process which inlcudes baking, drying and toasting leavining each individual grain a hollow, puffed shell --) collapsing whenever milk is added.
