We managed to get our hands on the mirrorless hybrid Samsung NX10 camera at CES and we were quite impressed. Get the full report at http://www.which.co.uk/ces2010
@HatroVille the images from the 550d will kill this. The 550d is the best high ISO APS-C camera there is it kills my nikons and i find it better than the 7d its an amazing camera the images are fantastic JPEG tends to be a tad soft as i find all canons to be but the RAW files are far from it. Unless you really want a small walk around camera be very very happy with your choice to get a 550D. This nx10 is probably the best small form you can get. i am going to get one for my dad.
@projectaquatone i was thinking this the other day when shooting into the sun, Live view does have a huge advantage there. another area is flash sync and obviously being able to see 100% of the frame is an advantage over lower end mirrord DSLRs. saying that though there are disadvantages as well and i think the mirror will be around on high end DSLRs for a good few years to come.
Slr only exists because film couldn't do live view. Live view isn't a mature technology yet, but there's no reason to choose a similar spec dslr over it based on not having a mirror.
This NX10 stuff is for amateurs who don't know how to use a DSLR but wanna act like those professionals. This is a consumer camera, not a pro, despite the sensor which is borrowed from slr's. In the old times SLR cameras and cheap compacts used the same films ! But still the SLR was so much above any compact. In these days the situation is just the same.
The mirror gives you autonomy, freedom to create in any light, keeping the main sensor cool and always ready for perfect shots.
Well i actually use this things and I see that the mirror consumes no power. I see that the mirror gives you direct good view through the lens at high quality even in bad light. With a mirror you won't overheat your sensor and you won't just consume it in time over exposing it. A hot sensor distorts reality.
So, a mirror is reliable and gives you a natural look through lens while consuming no power. What's the point tho have live view through viewfinder ? None, just mass marketing .
it's so interesting.. wanna see a the market!

Ohh that's nice to hear, I've actually decided on 550D in a month since I've tried both NX and 550D in shop, I think 550D is a lot better.
But that doesn't mean NX10 is bad..just personal preference that is. I guess I'm going to be happy with the choice I make.

Right when I decided to get the Canon 550D, the NX10 entered the market.
Hmm, NX10 looks like something of my type. Gonna see if the Lens reviews and Image outputs are good or not.

@vrcraft
It doesn't pretend to be a pro camera. It's an enthusiast camera. As is the Lumix gh1.

@vrcraft
The live image is what the sensor sees so is a more accurate representation of the final image.
