Disconnection: This man chose family instead of Scientology

At a protest at Scientology's HGB building, called by Susan Talbot due to the refusal of the local org to permit her to visit with her daughter, Mandy. This man came to protest and show support for the estranged mother and daughter, having himself chosen FAMILY in a disconnection showdown with Scientology. The focus of the protest, Susan Talbot, came from England after her phone messages were unreturned, in part to personally reconnect with her daughter Mandy who is a "sea org" member, and in part to tell Mandy about the passing away of Mandy's father. Mandy has refused to communicate with her mother for about 11 years due to the "disconnection" policy of scientology. This enforced religious shunning is tested with lie detector tests; visiting with family or friends who are blacklisted is grounds for discipline including the RPF, a "concentration camp-like" prison system for sea org members. The "OT"s or operating thetans in the "org" or organization, believe that bits of alien space ghosts possess their bodies and only scientology processes can eliminate them. They also believe that psychiatrists and psychologists are unknowingly governed by an evil space alien called Xenu. The enforced schizophrenia of scientology must be stopped, and until the governmental organizations are ready, the free citizens of the world will have to handle scientology.

I've met a couple who's daughter joined Scientology and disconnected from her family.

Her parents worked extremely hard to bring her back, and she's still recovering.

Scientology is dangerous.

Andy speaks of his 2nd wife, Elyse Levin, daughter of OSA Int. official Neil Levin, though there are no records to show Andy every married Elyse or divorced his 1st wife which he initially denied ever having... just another example of the tawdry thread the disconnection policy weaves in the cult.
