Naomi Long, Director of DPA's DC Metro Area, speaks honestly about her work, and the effect that the war on drugs has on all of us. Check us out at www.drugpolicy.org.
the government needs to focus more on outreach programs and judgement-free rehabs for people who are addicted to the more society-destroying drugs like crack, meth, coke, alcohol, etc. What we DON'T need is to waste our time fighting with one another, declaring a "war". OMFG, just calling it a war is vindictive.
I believe that people have the right to do whatever they want with themselves, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, and especially if they are beings of positive inention.
Some drugs promote people to engage in theft and violence against their fellow human beings, but I don't think we should have a "war" against them!! They need love and healing to help battle their addictions, not more violence and torment, prison etc. That won't help.
Thanks Naomi. I'm wracking my brains to. Why can't ppl see how futile and just wrong the war on some drugs is. Maybe the war on drugs is also a war on consciousness?
Long is smart and pretty. Not only is this a war on people, it's a war on nonviolent people, not hurting anybody else. Drug addiction may not be good, but we shouldn't lock those people who choose to use drugs in jail simply for doing something unhealthy to themselves.
im with you i totally understand im a felon now because of just 1 arrest and i have never stole to get my drug of choice i worked hard for my money to buy it and then for them to fine me and give me 8 years probation and also take my vehicle and money i had on my person now that was a crime and the police get away with it all the time I wish the laws would change because im not a bad person.
This is 1 of the only nations that so called illegal drugs is banned. If u go to other places & its legal & their crime rate is much lower than ours. The govermat allows drugs in this counrty. They have more focus on the ppl selling it on the streets than stoping it from coming in the U.S.
Thanks for your hard work Naomi. I hope everyone realizes the seriousness of this war on "some" drugs. It turns otherwise law abiding citizens into criminals simply based on a plant that they wish to ingest. It is a pogrom and needs to end now.

The War On Drugs Is The Most Illogical Corrupt Cruel Cowardly War Of All.
To Declare War on something that cant fight back, How Fucking Illogical and Cowardly Is That.
Unity Is the Key to setting us All Free, from Oppression and Tyranny.
