hold up! Isn't people WANTING a birthday party and wanted to celebrate holidays just as much brainwashing? They never stop to think WHY they want these things. Hold up. I'll tell you. Because people are selfish and material. Maybe that's why they don't like birthdays and holidays. Because it breeds materialism, which will soon prove to be the downfall of "civilization" if you even want to call it that. There is hardly anything civil about our way of life.

To say that celebrating a birthday is always so bad and materialistic is a bit paranoid.Of course if an individual decides birthdays are not for them them then that is fine,but when a religion dictates such individual decisions then it is a bit over the top don't you think. Some of the most materialistic people I ever knew were Jehovah's Witnesses by the way.

poopsinhispans, funny though that JW's celebrate pagan wedding ceremonies, the ceremony and the ring are pagan, check out my friends video on it he is 21crosschech21. Besides that The WTBTS's history from the beginning is filled with paganism-Pyramidology, Masonry, spiritism/Johannes Greber and astrology. It is such a contradiction when the WTBTS forces its rank and file to abstain from what they deem pagan when they are pagan from the beginning and though and through.

actually the only reason why they don't celebrate birthdays its because 2 related stories on the bible related to a birthday ended in tragedy, in other words by avoiding birthdays they are avoiding unexpected deaths or calmities, the first sotry its a bout a king who behead john the baptist and the other the birthday of a pharow (sry if i misspelled) who killed the guy who was encharged of bringing drinks.

Unfortunately, the heart of the issue is far more disturbing than what is being portrayed here. People oppressing other people for reasons of rituals that have no meaning whatsoever. However that doesn't stop them from pursuing these blindly does it? The simple truth is, humans are brainwashed/able by nature. It is an inevitable fact pure and simple.

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays ugh. They are acting like not celebrating a birthday is the most terrible thing in the world. There are worse things people raised as Jehovah's Witnesses have to endure than not celebrating a "birthday" or Christmas which is all about the presents anyway.
