Archie Lee Meighan, middle-aged cotton gin owner, can hardly wait for the 20th birthday of his childish bride Baby Doll, when he'll be allowed to consummate the marriage...he thinks. But rival owner Silva Vaccaro suspects Archie of burning his gin down, and takes an erotic form of Sicilian vengeance.

  • Thought she had to be 20. Is this a real trailer? Anyway, great film, and its three main stars were alive until Mr. Malden's passing the oher day-at 97! And Eli Wallach, whom I adore, is still acting in his 90s. Carroll has disappered fdrom the public, but is still very much alive. Thatks for posting this. An overlooked cinematic gem.

  • This is the kind of racy trailer they would show during intermission at the old drive-in theatre, the kind where your parents would try to distract you and you just KNEW that it had to be a good film. John Waters raves about "Baby Doll" in his new book, "Role Models".

  • I still can't finish it today its too racy and vulgar.

  • Steady on there old boy....

  • I guess 1956 is when they started making movies where white people looked like a bunch of stupid assholes who were placed on the earth to be degraded and ridiculed.

  • Fats Domino is in the soundtrack in this movie, isn't he?

  • i can see why John Waters loves this film.

  • ah...the old days when the previews actually showed you what the movie was about, not like the ones today that are so elusive that you dont even know what your going to see

  • Well, that's certainly not the theatrical trailer

  • who in god's holy name cut this trailer? no wonder this film got panned. this is utter false advertising.
