panama canal

the peaceboat goes through the panama canal to the sound of the buena vista social club, which, if you ask me is the only way to transit the canal.

it took most of the day to get from the carribean to the pacific. the city toward the end of the video is panama city.

The video is great but I would have chosen different music. The Buena Vista Social Club plays Cuban music. Something by Ruben Blades, Panama's Minister of Tourism, perhaps from his Tiempos album, would have been more appropriate.

thanks for the suggestion, I mixed it all together on a ship sailing it up the atlantic ccoast of mexico, and unfortunately didnt have acccess to any panamanian music, which I would have preferred, if you have any mp3s would you be willing to select one or two that you think are more appropriate and email them to me?? appreciate your interest, and completely agree, the same thing has bothered me about this piece.

Can anybody tell me the cheapest way to cross the Panama Canal besides swimming, paragliding, etc.

Sorry, I don't have the capability of downloading any music to you. I ran across this cd through my local library; liked it so much that I bought a copy through Amazon. com. If you're familiar with Panama, particularly Casco Viejo, the photos of Ruben are taken at Las Bovedas where I used to ride my tricyle as a child.
