I absolutely adore Children of Earth. It's what got me into Torchwood in the first place. Brilliant storyline. It shows how much we worry about our own. Thumbs up if you can't wait until Miracle Day.

see this is what makes torchwood creepy. when you're watching it you're too enticed by the plo and storyline and everything thats happening, you don't notice how creepy it is, until you take something so innocent, and put them together, thats what torchwood is, thats what makes it torchwood.

i just looked back at this trailer and i had earphones in, turned the volume right up and i almost cried coz i was getting goosebumps like hell!

Exactly, yeah. It wasn't terrible, not by a long shot. But it was disappointing. There's a standard that should come with a ten-episode-long arc that it just didn't quite meet. Especially for a show related to Doctor Who. It could have been so much more that it was. That said, it was enjoyable if you watch it as a separate story. If you compare it too much to past serieses... yeah.

Fair enough. Miracle Day was a great story, and it had that same kind of exposing-human-nature quality as most of Torchwood does... but... it just wasn't Torchwood. With Owen, Tosh, and Ianto gone it's... Sigh. I'm not saying those deaths shouldn't have happened, certainly not. It enriches the plot for tragedy to happen. But they should have found a new team, rebuilt the Torchwood hub, etc. They turned Torchwood into a cop show. Change Gwen and Jack's names and it's completely unrecognizable.
