Food Or Death (Sábado Gigante Spoof)

Ever see Sábado Gigante? A great Mexican game show/variety show. Though my Spanish isn't very good it is easy to follow along and it is very entertaining.

My son wrote and directed this back in 2008 for a film class project. We had just gotten our green screen and still didn't know how to light it properly. Also, this was shot before we had an HD camera. We had a different version of this uploaded in the past, but had to take it down since the music my son chose was commercial and copyright issues arose. Thank goodness for Kevin MacLeod and his great music service.

When we first did this, my son wrote it in the early Sunday afternoon, we then shot it, and proceeded to edit until about 1:00AM Monday morning. It was good for what it was, but since I decided to reedit it, I upgraded the graphics sounds and attempted to balance the color (it was very washed out).

It is so fun to do projects with my son. His approach really helps my projects reach a higher level.

ohhhh I just remembered...there were two songs in there. The one I was remembering was from an old Japanese music game, so I was surprised it got caught. But then I remembered, the video started off with a song by Theory of a Deadman, which is much more mainstream. I'm guessing Sony BMG contacted you about that one. Oh well.

uh. Sabado Gigante is not a Mexican show. The host is Chilean and it's filmed in Miami.

Somehow I missed this video. It definitely is a reality show befitting Fox. You did a great job with the special effects, and Grace was the perfect contestant (although, I hated to see all of her lose so quickly).
