This will suffice as a "tutorial". Inner workings of the reverse Flow Coffin Fog Chiller. This is an Antari Z-1200 fog machine rocking at 3/4 to full volume. Froggys "Freezin Fog" fluid was used. NOTHING can go wrong. Worst case scenario, the ambient temp is too cold... you have a smoking coffin.

It works about the same way as a reverse flow BBQ smoker. Thank you Mr. Lang, and all the 'done it yourselfers' at the "Smoke Ring" BBQ forum.
www.smokering.com Fortunately, I had a blinding flash of the obvious... and I didnt weld this together with a small fortune in sheet metal. Fence pickets & 2x3's worked just fine.

It flows from the upper "feet side", to the upper "head side", then down through a 1 1/2" x 9" wide gap, down then back to the "feet side" .

www.scarefx.com has an excellent tutorial on making a "Toe Pincher" coffin. Thank you Scare Effects.... If I hadn't seen the EZ Build Toe Pincher, I would have confused people with a goofy non-descript box masquerading as some kind of coffin.

Mine is Five 6" fence pickets wide x Three 6" fence pickets tall. About 18 pickets. Conceivably you could construct the inner box/shelf combo as a separate stand alone, drop in unit. The hardware cloth would have been easier to attach. I put the shelf on cross braces, concerned that the ice would bulge the top out. There is essentially a 4" thick ice wall. The "head end" where fog leaks out the top, there is 5" of ice to go through. Most of the ice creeps out of the "feet end". The 4" between fogger shelf, and the cooler shelf .. is a distinct separation of the wet and dry areas. Something or other regarding electrocution... you want the fog machine in a "dry" area. This also allows the fog to atomize properly. There are three 1" holes drilled into each side, to allow intake air to flow.

Smaller fog machines could conceivably work just fine with a smaller, "Leprechaun size" coffin. Also conceivably... the BBQ world influence could be further explored. An "Ugly Drum Chiller" for instance..

For extra cooling, I might apply rock salt. Possibly, I will put a few pounds of dry ice on a rib rack, wrap it in foil and slide it into the cooler shelf.

**Set Designers** Obviously if you use this on a stage or otherwise indoors, you would want to incorporate a drip pan.. so as to catch dripping water. Small Venues should only require one coffin, and one smoke machine (possibly two if you want more continues flow) Obviously, a few canned/bottled beverages could be stored in the ice for after the show. Conceivably, cup holder holes could be made in the lid to keep your currently sipped beverage cool.
