This was actually a very interesting video. I don't encourage racism, however I feel that people shouldn't get so worked up over a cartoon. This was a totally different time with different ideas, and while we don't agree with them, it's part of our history and it shouldn't be forgotten.

the animators at warners like bob clampett and chuck jones were not racist at all they made fun of everybody in society if you notice they made more fun of white people than any other racial group

I'm not saying that Skin Color hasn't played a huge part in history... because it has. What I'm saying is that our mental construction is not effected by skin color. So... why should it matter if I'm white? My opinion is just as valid as yours is, since many of the people in this chatbox have only heard about racism and opression from their parents; never having it happen to themselves...

@qsmith007 Adding onto that, almost all ethnic groups have faced oppresion sometime in history. Egyptians, Native Americans, African Americans, Whites during the Holocaust... racism, in my definition, is when someone believes someone's race effects how judgement should be passed on them. It is culture, philosophy, and religion that form a ethnic group. Skin color is simply a genetic trait, and has nothing to do with the way you process thoughts. Whites could just as easily have been the slaves.

@qsmith007 Some parts of me think this shouldn't be a big deal but this video is essentially racial propaganda. Full of racial jokes and all sorts of insults directed towards the African American society. This is indeed a piece of history; America was racially prejudice during this time, and there is no need to forget it. It depends on how you feel; personally, I think although the cartoon is masterfully animated it will be one of the many things best left to fade into history. Who knows though?

@AmayaHinageshi...I as an artist....feel OFFENDED concerning this cartoon. I don't look at the ART...I look at the PURPOSE. If I made a cartoon about "crackers"...most whites would feel offended. "People feel no need to complain until the dog comes take a crap in THEIR yard".
