PLEASE CLICK ON THE HIGH QUALITY LINK UNDER THE VIDEO TO WATCH...This was my final project for my Mex-Am Humanities course. In the video, Daniel "Teacher" Rodriguez speaks about his familys' history in the Tradicion. The video of him speaking was a vhs to digital conversion; the vhs tape was terribly degraded - this is the best I could do to restore it. Dedicated to El Teacher and to Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli nikan Huichantlan. Aho-Ometeotl!

  • I enjoyed watching your video. To have someone of real knowledge speak is refreshing. It shows that what is considered or passes as "aztec dancing" nowadays in the United States is only a drop of water in a sea of very real history in Mexico City and its surroundings. There is procedure and protocol in what traditional circles must do. Not all this mumbojumbo make believe stuff going on in the U.S... again, great video.

  • Thank you. You are correct of what you say about many groups here in the U S. We have been fortunate to have been taught by this wonderful person we call "Teacher;" each and every year he comes up and stays for 2 to 3 months at a time, and we are forever grateful for that.

  • Hey what was that song called that started at 06:00? Nice video by the way!

  • The song is from the now broken up group Mezme who were very popular within Danza circles in the late 90s. The song's called "Dioses," but if you're trying to find their music, good luck. I actually have a burned copy given to me from a friend, and I've tried finding their stuff online with no luck. However, I found an e-mail address for one of the former members of the group earlier this year, and he agreed to sell me some of his few remaining copies of their music. I never heard back from him.
