LYRICS:
hero(es)
verse one
well what a day
today became
when i think of how it started
what's that you say
well, what a shame
and i was feeling so solid-hearted
pre-chorus
he spoke to my pain and made me rejoice
without his words, i'd have never found my voice
chorus
when people push and shove
oh it gives me hell
all you gave was love with a capital L
your message took my heart
and made it go from sixty to zero
no matter where you are
you'll always be my hero
verse two
your call to arms
spoke to straight and gay
your sign of hope shone oh so bright
still, these painted walls
are colored gray
and they once were black and white
pre-chorus two
somehow my soul's surrounded by guilt
i can only follow the road you built
repeat chorus
bridge
what makes the battle even more rough
is that you thought you didn't do enough
how could you ever have failed us
your words more than regaled us
yeah with every page you prevailed and
you melted hearts frozen like ice
i hope this song will suffice
chorus two
if people push and shove
we'll hover and huddle
and armed with your love
our message won't be muddled
in no time we'll take the freedom train
to sixty from zero
we'll always be your heroes

@bellfisher Thanks! I don't recall your YouTube name from anywhere else, so just curious, who are you on Facebook that you saw the note? Are we fb friends? :)

It's weird that I noticed that you posted this exactly a month later. I saw your note, and the lyrics, and hoped that you had gotten a chance to upload the song...Perry loved creation, creating and creativity. Expression, expressing and well, hell, what would be the word? Pretty sure expressivity doesn't exist yet... But, living-it comes to mind.
He would want that, insist on it, did it.
As you did. Well done Ethan, and thank you.
