The 2011 Digital Counties Survey and the National Association of Counties have recognized Palm Beach County as the most tech-savvy in the U.S. among all counties with populations of 500,000 or more. The annual survey focuses on the results achieved through the use of technology, both in terms of operating efficiencies and realizing strategic objectives. At the August 16, 2011, Board of County Commissioners meeting, Todd Sander, deputy director of the Center for Digital Government, presented this year's award to Commission Chair Karen Marcus, County Administrator Bob Weisman, and ISS Director Steve Bordelon.
