That's true, but Idina has a naturally lower voice, so she uses her amazing range while Kristin is naturally higher, so it would sound much more pitchy if she sang it the same way. also, since it's just her, she sings her part of the harmony and uses her lower register to sing Idina's solo parts, which are lower, and does not sing the higher harmony part

I thought Idina's notes were higher than Kristin. She sings the higher harmony throughout the song and Kristin sings the lower harmony.
