Hellgate London: Ending cutscenes

The ending of Hellgate: London on the normal difficulty.

A bit underwhelming if you ask me. Maybe there's a better one after Nightmare.

Yeah, I finished this game, and wonder what was that final scene all about. What did Emmera do before she passed out? It is just kinda annoying that when you have to defeat the Vanquishers (Discord, Bedlam, Rash, Flaw, Despair), she keeps floating around you.

Your character got sent through a portal of some sort. There's no idea what happens and when the cutscene's over, you're still in Hell and exit the game manually after picking up spoils.

Murmur is a Duke of Hell. Apparently he was one of 72 demons summoned and bound by King Solomon. This is stated in the Lesser Key of Solomon, the Ars Goetia. It has most of the knowledge on these 72 demons and the diagrams used to summon them.

The First is the first demon to step from the Shadow, thus he is the most powerful and highest in the heirachy of demons. He controls all the demons, including all the Eldest and Dark Wills.

@Hjorten1985 Hellgate: London Exodus, Goetia, and Covenant all by Mel Odom. In them, a Cabalist named Warren Schimmer is used as a pawn by a demon to kill the underlings of a higher ranked demon in order to take his rank and legion and be allowed to take part in "the burn." These novels are set 18, 14, and 13 years before the game. They are good pre-game info for those who got confused by the game. You can buy them from Barnes and Noble, Borders, Amazon, etc.

I was thinking that the First could probably be the creator, cos he would be first, right? That explains why murmur says he wouldnt be happy, cos just as sydonai falls, another demon takes his place..

P.S. Hellgate London is being Re-opened to N. America soon and Hellgate: Tokyo and Hellgate Resurection will be sold Dec 8th if the new owners keep their word. Wiki it for more info.

To the confused, read the books. In them it states that before the invasion to hell, the only way Demons ranked up was to kill a superior. When the Invasion started the First (Lucifer) banned that rule. So the Demons like Murmur began using human agents to kill their rivals and gain their legions and rank. Emera strips Sydonai of SOME of his powers so you can kill him, then dies. Murmur absorbs Sydonais "Evil" and then tosses you aside. Be thankful, other demons would just kill you dead.
