Acoustic Guitar cover of Jerry Jeff Walker's Mr Bojangles. I used a Epiphone DR 500 MNS with a B-Band A-A2 pickup into a Fender Ultralight Acoustasonic . Then miked the amp with a Shure KSM-27 into a peavey mixer, into Audacity. A Sennheiser 845S mic used on vocals.
The original song was done in 3/4 time, I decided to give it a 4/4 twist.

  • Thanks a lot for responding to my inquirery. This morning I was finally able to get a good sound out of my Ultralight using a small amount of chorus+reverb and my 1869. I use a Sennheiser E825S for vocal and love how smooth it is.

Your singing and playing style is top-notch. All together, it sounds great.

    Thanks again,

    Peace to ya.

    Thanks Tim,

You have some great equipment. Keep working with the effects your amp has. I usually have my effects level set less than half way. Keep playing with your amp and you will find a sweet spot,

  • Are you using the Fender Ultralight for vocals and guitar? Looks as though you're micing the Fender. Great sound, but I can't seem to get even close to the same sound out of my Ultralight. The guitars I'm using are a Taylor 314CE and a Ovation 1869 Custom Legend. Can you give me any pointers?

I'm using a Sennheiser 835 mic and I am plugged into the ultralight with my guitar also and I am miking the cabinet with a shure KSM-27 into audacity recording program. I have a B-band pickup in the guitar and I use a little reverb on the vocals and also the guitar. The Ultra light is the best I have used for vocals.

  • Looking for how this mic sounded I came across this.. so glad I did.. I love your cover and so does my mom thanks for uploading one of my favorite songs.. I love the vintage feel to the recording which seems rare with digital nowadays.. do you think it has something to do with one of the mics (shure maybe?) or recording from the amp? or maybe it's just one of the greatest parts of american history (guys like you)

    thanks

  • Thanks !!
