At its height, the nation's first order for African-American nuns had anywhere from 300 to 500 members. Now, there are fewer than 100 members of the Oblate Sisters of Providence. Five members celebrated at least 50 years in the sisterhood this week, with Sister Mary Alice being recognized for her 75th year of service.
