@Steelie1963 I doubt that. After a international blockade of Russia by practically all of the industrialized world and 4 year long civil war that all, but left the country in ruins there was no alternatives left other than dictatorship. A few disorganized bands of anarchists on horseback would have been quickly massacred in the Nazi mechanized blitzkrieg. Most of Russia would be Nazi German territory by now with most Russians either exterminated or put into forced labor camps building V2s.

@Steelie1963 Historical hindsight is for armchair politicians, what should have happened didn't and you'll make lots of political enemies about that, but what shouldn't have happened did and you'll make lots of political enemies. Would history have ended up differently? Who knows? What if the anarchists did win and the Nazis invaded anyway a country with no factories to churn out T-34s to beat back the German panzers? The world would still be colonized, but with Japan and Germany and America.

@Steelie1963 Yes, lots of terrible things happen in revolutions. Lot's of innocent people that shouldn't be killed were killed and lot's of guilty people that should be killed weren't killed. What's your point? The anarchists were killed because they were witholding grain that was needed to feed the city. Russia wasn't industrialized, had no industrialized farms that used mechanized tractors, had no factories needed to make those tractors and the state was needed because of war socialism.
