Ho Chi Minh's love for America was what made the war so bitter. He started his declaration of freedom from the french with the first lines of our declaration of independence. He asked for the US help and called for democracy but Pres Truman denied him on the counts that he would rather have the French apart of the developing UN. So who was left to help, the commies. He used any means necessary in achieving his goals and I know the issue of land distribution was crazy but at the same time he did what eh had to do. Uncle Ho might be a great man .. but you people do not truly know the real form of the communist government in Hanoi.. it is the very same as North Korea. They brainwashed their people in literature and through the education systems. Their officials are full of corrupts, they only care about themselves those that with the government get richer, while ordinary people live in hungers and barely meeting their daily needs. The ordinary people hate the government !
