Fishing with my 7 yr old son Jules & my nephew Johnny @ 61st street fishing pier in Galveston, Tx. Very nice clean pier with lots of cleaning tables & sinks with running water. Early birds get the best spots so we were there @ 6am. You can bring your own drinks & food, no glass containers. Or purchase food from the grill. They have hard rock playing all day & no you can not bring in alcoholic beverages but you can purchase your beer for $3.00 a beer. The main idea of the trip was for my son to catch his 1st fish. Check it out & see how he & my nephew do.

@emilemil1998- Cool! I like to use at least a 4oz or heavier spider weight & cut dead bait, squid, shad & mullet for reds. You can use live shrimp for trout but you need an air pump to keep them alive plus they are on the expensive side. Remember only 2 rods per person. Your admission ticket is good for 24hrs, it starts @ 6:30am. That's the best time to get a good spot @ the T. Either side is good. That is the deepest part of the pier. Good luck!

@emilemil1998- Fishing wise 12-1am are minor feeding times this weekend. The major feeding times are Sat 6:48am-7:13am & Sunday 7:52am. Now that's according to current moon phase. Also if you get there at midnight you gotta pay again at 6:30am for the next day if you decide to stay. Hope this helps.
