Wow amazing that John Barry liked this film, and now i can undertand him better. Yes, this is a great movie that should be on tv more and Gene Kelly undoubtably the greatest MGM dancer and artist, I really live John Barry's music, so many great movie scores too numerous to list, but my favorite is "Somewhere in time."
Great movies are ageless.

John Barry could not been more truthful in his explanation of how this film ranks in muscial film history. The jazz sequence with Gene & Leslie was so romantic; it would not have worked without that jazz solo & etc. The story line was not so innovative but the technique in which the story was relayed in dance was spectacular. Man, add the lighting, costumes & the directing overall...just beautiful. The ending was bittersweet; I just did not want that world to end! Most def, my fav musical!
