My version (threw in some of Jared's and Caleb's parts) of how to play a lead electric guitar cover of Use Somebody by Kings of Leon. Gibson ES-137, MXR Compressor, Fulltone OCD, Boss RV-5 Reverb, slight Korg SDD-3000 delay into a 1993 Vox AC-30 amplifier w/ blue bulldogs. Sorry bout the mistakes, Enjoy!

  • absoloutely amazin,i just love it. 10/10

  • @MrHuntarx Thanks!!!

  • Thanks everyone for the kind comments, y'all are too nice. A lot of people are asking for tabs - I'm sorry but I don't have any. I learned this song by listening to it and watching Matthew on live performances. My teacher always told me (and most will agree) the best way to learn a song is to take the time to figure it out yourself instead of going straight to tabs. There's just something about that process that makes you a better player. Again, sorry I don't have any!

  • yo that was an amazing cover. can you possibly tell me what pedals you are using? especially for the overdiven/distorted sound of matthews guitar, and is it just clean when playing calebs part? thanks alot.

  • @greglfc123 Sorry, the overdrive is turned on in addition to the distortion for the solo.

  • @ddsgolfedge thanks alot mate, i'm definately going to invest in a fulltone ocd because of this. is your amp on clean with just the pedals is it?

  • @greglfc123 You'll like the OCD for sure. Yep, the Vox AC30 has a brilliant channel but no dist. switch. The louder you turn it up, the more the sound breaks up; pretty much what Vox's are known for.

  • Pretty good! nice tone, and well done for by ear. If I can give you some advice, work on your timing, you were a little ahead of yourself on a few parts.

  • Nice guitar!

  • @ddsgolfedge i actually try to sound it out and i compare what i learn against tabs afterwards to see which one fits better when playing along.

  • Word

  • @ddsgolfedge I know! Except I learned to play "The Immortals" when I saw them live, and it's even 10X more badass when they play "Velvet Snow" in freaking 2011 in America (never thought I'd see a YandYM song live). I was just totally focused on what Caleb was playing, because I really couldn't find any clear videos

  • i learned to play this song off rocksmith no joke

i hoping to find some blink182 songs to learn

  • you're terrific... really!

  • how much did that guitar cost you?? its freakin nice!!
