Jack Nicholson is greatest actor of all time but he did OK playing the joker.
Heath Ledger is only best joker in my opinion.

To me, the whole "Jack vs. Heath" thing is just silly. Any real Batman fan knows that Cesar Romero is by far the best.

@MyBlizzardBoy i agree both actors captured parts of the joker that they didnt do. as in the 89 joker was more just like you said charismatic and sinister and the new one was just crazy and thoughtt ahead more

You can pick your favorite, but you can't compare the two. Heath ledgars joker was demented and twisted but still made you like him. Jacks joker.....more sick. They are both amazing

MyBlizzardBoy is completely correct. Jack was completely into character for the Joker that TIM BURTON needed and wanted for HIS batman films, which was more like the comic books. Heath portrayed the Joker that CHRISTOPHER NOLAN'S batman films needed, which was based on a more realism scale.
Both of them were brilliant with their performances, I think.
