TG4's Arts Show Promo,
Imeall
The title of TG4s new weekly arts programme translates as edge and
thats where we intend to be, at the cutting edge of all that is happening
culturally and artistically in Ireland. The world of the arts is constantly
shifting, generating new styles, trends and perspectives and in trying to
capture this Imeall will present a dynamic and diverse team of artists,
engaging with their peers at rehearsals, at workshops, galleries,
performance spaces, theatres and concert venues.
Our artists will give us a unique insight into the world of their
contemporaries which will include some of our most passionate and
authoritative voices from the world of arts and culture in Ireland to help
us achieve this; we will have regular reports from Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh
singer, Fergal McCarthy, artist, Sinead Ní Mhaonaigh, artist, Fearghus Ó
Conchúir, contemporary dancer, Ceara Conway artist. Imeall will have two on
location reports in each programme.
Our presenter Cormac de Barra will also explore the arts with a host of
guests from our studio in Galway each week, as well as previewing and
reviewing the latest arts openings and events.
Each programme will feature a musical item, intent on showcasing the work of
emerging young talent, as well as more established performers.
Imeall will be fast moving and informative and will reflect the evolving
artistic landscape of the country.
Imeall aspires to be a beacon within the world of contemporary Irish Arts
and to become a key part in the dialogue within the artistic community.
Welcome aboard Imeall and we hope you will join us for the coming year as we
chart the course of the countrys cultural and artistic calendar.
The programme will be broadcast twice a week on Wednesdays at 11.05pm and it
can be seen again on Sundays at 7.00pm.
