I love this film, it is just further proof that Danish people are clearly out of their minds. - Adam Yauch

Robert Hanson (Jakob Cedergren) is a Copenhagen police officer who, following a nervous breakdown, is transferred to a small provincial town to take on the mysteriously vacated Marshall position and subsequently gets mixed up with a married femme fatale. Roberts big city temperament makes it impossible for him to fit in, or understand the uncivilized, bizarre behavior displayed by the townspeople. Quickly spiraling downward into an intense fable reminiscent of the Coen Brothers BLOOD SIMPLE and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, TERRIBLY HAPPY displays a unique, often macabre vision of the darkest depths to which people will go to achieve a sense of security and belonging.

  • Your need to insult other people in order too feel better about yourself is troubling.

Anyway, i didn't know it was based on a book, and that really changes my whole stand on it.

Still, no need for the language, there are people out there who's children are actually born retarded, and yet here you are, using it as some kind of insult to feel better about your own life.

You got some rethinking to do mate, cheers.

  • hahah that cat lol!

On iTunes look up Frygtelig Lykkelig

it is the last song on the album. Its called The road.

  • @SearchInSun There's a subtitled version of the movie available on Netflix. I recommend it!

  • This is movie shows very precisely why I will never move from Zealand to Jutland :P

  • This sort of behavior is normal for Denmark.

Don't believe me? Just type "Wulffmorgenthaler" or "Dolph The Fascist Hippo" into Google for some examples of FINE DANISH HUMOR. :-)

  • Good movie.

The eulogy was one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
