I respect Shias.....but to be honest...one thing I've never understood is why SOME of you cut yourselves on the Ashura.....what's the point of that anyway.

I am not Persian, so I am naive and curious; But is seems by the content of the comments left by many of the ethnic Persians here, that Islam is a poison imposed by the Arabs. I am Shiite and it is saddening to see one of the only 'Shiite' countries falling into the immorality of Jahiliyya.
