Driving buses in Guatemala can be a risky business.

This year, criminal gangs have killed more than 80 drivers and their assistants for not paying protection money.

And now, as Christmas approaches, the gangs are demanding holiday bonuses from bus operators.

Al Jazeera's David Mercer reports from Guatemala City.
