I was at a big air show and a flight of four Apache's were coming right at the crowd. I took one look at them and literally had to suppress the urge to run. They are awesome.

The engine intakes have systems in place to prevent debris from entering the engines.
Even if one engine completely fails, the helicopter would most likely still be able to make it back to base, and if not that, then they would certainly be able to land perfectly safely.
No, the engine would not cause a massive explosion, killing the crew and the people in the jeep. Hollywood has lied to you.
