Hey bro it When i plug in my zune, it says it might not work properly. When i bring up the zune hompage, it tells me to download the latest version of zune. So i go there and it downloaded the same zune I already have. Also when i try to sync music onto it, it only says,"connect a zune device." Even though i just plugged mine in.
What am i doing wrong? If you could help me out it would be much appreciated.

I take it you're in the old-school "give me a folder-based directory structure that I can manage myself and drag and drop my content"? I hear complaints about Zune from people who prefer that approach. I'm not sure what's so hard about clicking on an album, artist, or genre and dragging it to the little Zune icon on the bottom of the screen. I find content management extremely simple with the Zune software.

Using any of the modern Media application's is like trying to cook with a overgrown Octopus in the kitchen that has decided it knows best where to find things in the cupboards and how I should get to them. I just want to throw some stuff in the pan and get on with it. It's a shame, I liked the Zune 4GB itself.
how do i install music to my zune from my external hard drive

@xelxskilsx You need to add the music to the Zune software - go into Settings > Collection > then add it as a monitored folder.
