Hi everyone! I haven't been on this video in forever. I'm surprised it has so many views :o I hope everyone is doing well, and I apologize if anything in my description or title is of misinformation because I really don't know much about the world of the geisha. I do enjoy the info about them though! Keep it coming! @DevilShroom The reason why I mentioned Mamechika was because she wore the exact same kimono when she was a maiko. I can't really tell from the video, but I remember that kimono anywhere. ^_~ Though I also know from my own visit to a tea house that kimono are also sometimes recycled and newer maiko sometimes wear kimono worn by previous maiko.

an apprentice Geisha would be called maiko , but the full GEISHA would be called Geiko =)

in kyoto,without introductio by trustworthy perrson,no one can eojoy dancing or song by

maiko ,geiko privately in tea house.

they never accept first visitor.,however wealty person he may be.

by the way,it costs some 400 dollars per hour to enjoy this kind of dance privately.

Her ornate hair adornment makes me think she is a Maiko rather than a full fledged Geiko. I could be wrong though.

This must have been a treat to experience! Whenever I feel a bit low, anything geisha uplifts me so. I am female. I was a paid "arts person" for years in NYC and Paris, could be considered a courtesan but no sex was demanded. I feel sorry I can never visit Japan and they are in such trouble.  I had years of training as a girl and wore a bow obi in the back my parents gave me. I supported them well on my earnings and earned great acclaim. I am retired now in Paris, France. Uprated.
