Suzuki Violin students play for Mayor Kang and the Irvine Ciy Council Meeting. They are all students of Ms. Cynthia from two sister Suzuki violin programs in Orange County, CA: Talent Education Center: Suzuki Violin based in Irvine http://www.got2twinkle.com . Also Santa Ana Suzuki Strings from the After School Arts program of the Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center based in Santa Ana, founded by Dr. Jimenez, which serves children at risk and special needs children. http://www.occtac.org More information about SASS at http://sasuzukistrings.wordpress.com

Every one works so hard to make a nice tone together but we also have fun while we are at it.

This is just the way our students really sound. We did nothing to improve the sound of the recording. The sound engineer was a sub so he was not sure how to set the volume for the piano recording. I think he didn't expect the little violins to have any volume. Even though the piano was a little loud on his second try the students played right up to it. We played " America the Beautiful" with out piano thinking that would help the sound man with the volume needed. It was the only piece they have not fully memorized. They were unflappable.

The older students playing the Humoresque just started Jr. High. I would love to see them have more experience playing for others. It will be so wonderful to hear how they sound together when they are ready to leave for college one day.

I want to thank all the parents for getting them to the Civic Center on time and ready to play. They were so well prepared to play for everyone.

We had lots more to play, but the City Council was very kind to give us 5 minutes of their precious time. We later played more of our program and all of the Twinkles for the Irvine Global Village Festival at Bill Barber Park.

  • Great! Keep up the good job, Cynthia!

  • Thank You..

Looks like my advanced students will be playing for this venue again soon.

Did you notice what a wide ethnic distribution we have when I get both groups together. My goal is to keep them playing together as often as possible.
