This was what happened when the two candidates for the Presidency of the FIA (Ari Vatanen & Jean Todt) bumped into each other on the grid for the Singapore 2009 Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Note the valiant efforts of Mr Bernie Ecclestone (short guy with big glasses) and Richard Woods (beard & flowing mane) to keep the two title contenders apart.

I think Ari was heading for the Singapore Prime Minister in this video - not Todt. He appears to get arm barred by a bunch of people and then Bernie pushed him towards Todt. I think they were trying to stop him from meeting the Singapore PM.
