  • I never watched Channel 2 news, but I LOVE this song and commercial! Could you please send this to fuzzymemories? He has a whole site with stuff like this!

  • Kind of a conscience the phrase came in the same year Carly Simon had a hit from the James Bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me."

  • Ah, brings back the memories.

  • Wow, this is phenomenal. I remember WBBM from when I was a kid. In fact, had many opportunities to sit in that newsroom in those days during shows. Love the two-inch quad VTR shot. Some of that stuff was still in use until they moved to 22 W. Washington in 2008! A few bits and pieces I'm sure ended up in the care of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, too.

  • @ortonWWEchamp Gene was the movie man in Chicago before anybody. He was the one you relied on for whats good or bad at the movies

  • @StukInBuf that was John Drummond if I'm not mistaken

  • Now he's back @ Channel 2

  • harry porterfield did the "someone you should know" for abc channel 7

  • It was great to be a journalist back in the day. Sometimes, I even miss typewriters.

You know what I'd like to see on YT? Back in '74, WBBM TV had station IDs they'd show on certain holidays. I definitely remember the Memorial Day, Easter & Passover ones.

  • It's a shame how far it seems every station in the country has fallen from its respective glory days. I might sound like an idealist, but it would be beautiful if every station in the country to re-adopt the journalistic philosophy which is implied in this promotion; I sure as hell don't see any reporting from crime scenes, fires, or car accidents in here.
