This is a video from my first Nintendo DS homebrew video game, adapted from the famous Gamebooks series "Lone Wolf". Official site: http://www.projectaon.org/staff/frederic/

  • This is really cool. Have you done any more of them?

  • @isleofthieves Hi, all the first 5 books of the Kai series are available at my download page (see the video description)

  • hey is it still in stores? iv looked online 4 it for days and i cant find it. still, it looks like a rly awesome game.

  • @ODDFunnyFilms: Hi, well it's a free game, you can't buy it in stores. You can download it on the official page (see the video description for the link). But you'll need a flash cart to play it, like other homebrews.

  • I'd love to see this done with the Steve Jackson Sorcery books. Ever think of making a retail game?

  • Thanks for the kind words. Well a publisher, who was interested in the LoneWolfDS concept, contacted Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone about this. But he didn't get any reply, so I guess they are not interested. Too bad, since I'm sure there is a high potential in this concept...

  • I have a question though.

Are there any plans on making the game left-handed friendly? I'm not sure how the game is programmed, but if you could just flip the images so the system can be held upside down while playing it would make it much easier to play for lefties.

I've already beaten the game, so obviously I'm not too worried about it. I'll be playing a few more times before I put this bad boy away.

    Fantastic work.

Everything about it is just plain awesome! :D

  • ... wow.

    ... just wow.

    Damnit that's fantastic.

  • Amazing! my younger years relived. All I can say is thank you!

  • This is awesome. Too close to like reading the real thing though. I think I'd rather just do that. But the fighting feature is pretty sweet :) Some of the books would be hard as hell like this without a little cheating lol. "Castle Death" would probably kick my ass every time lol. As would "The Deathlord of Ixia". That book is so hard

  • This games are awesome, thank you for creating it for DS, thank you on your effort to make this happen, i played first 2 parts about hundred times already!

this concept is great IMHO, and i think that this game has potential as commercial game, i would buy it! as soon as i get some money on pay pal, i'll sure donate as i want to see other sequels on DS!

This is great, dude, thank you once again for making this wonderful job!

  • A great adaptation of a gamebook to the DS. Good choices of music and background for the text, and character burning seems to be very smooth. The dice roller is especially classy.

Add some production values, like music tracks and full-color art, then bundle the books as originally intended (with five stories for each level of difficulty) and I could easily see this as a budget title on PlayStation Network.

  • Thanks... it was realy fun to see that demo. Seems some are saying maybe you made the port? If so... congratulations! :-) I have the books (well US 1-20 and various UK of those.. none above 20) and nice to see new life put in them.

  • I had the chance to play the first two books you ported on the DS, and only one word came to my mind: MASTERPIECE.

So, I thank you deeply for creating these two gems of a porting.

And now for the hideous question: will you ever continue the porting?

Thanks in advance for your reply!
