@EVILWS666 I'm running shorty headers with a loudmouth exhaust and off road y-pipe. I have all of the real 02 sensors in place and a stock computer. The engine light never came on. Strange...

@EVILWS666 you can still have cats. with a y pipe, your two exhaust pipes coming from your headers will collect at some point, and diverge at one point. your o2 sensors may not work with the placement of the cats, but you can still have em, so you can still be street legal, but quieter.

i just got some 4.10 gears in my 98 trans am now im looking for exhaust.. i already have a catback slp loudmouth 1 set up, but im looking for headers and a y pipe now... how much of a performance change is there with longtubes high flow cats would you say??

headers are a must if you want a good exhaust setup. If I were you I would get long tube headers and an offroad Y-Pipe (means there's no cat). You would need O2 Sensor simulators so your SES light doesn't turn on.
Just be aware that Loudmouth systems with headers are EXTREMELY raspy
