Willie Waldman Project (Steve Moritz freestyle)

Saturday, 3-14-09, in Harrisburg (outside Sioux Falls) SD. I had never heard of Willie. But I had seen a couple of the bands from which he cherry-picked his supporting ensemble (from bands like Down Lo & Particle.) The show was a groove-rocking odyssey. And Mr. Waldman brings the energy, just listening to the band he was jumping up and down with his hands and horn in the air before he ever played a note into the mic.

One highlight that is captured here is a very simple Freestyle dropped by Particle keyboardist Steve Moritz. I hope the different clips I have flow together well, I probably left about 50 secs of footage on the cutting room floor in the hopes of having musically interesting edits. The closing cuts get sloppy, and the program wouldnt let me repeat the sample as many times as i thought it should, anyway i left them in to show the crowd's energy.
