Rocking The Silence
12 Hours Of Great Original Indie Music Saturday, February 27 On BlogTV
featuring recorded and some live music

The media has neglected to adequately cover what should be a major story about a disaster here in the U.S. so some incredibly talented independent musicians have come together to help raise awareness.

The Issues
The Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in South Dakota was hit by multiple winter storms that brought down power lines and over 3,000 power poles. Residents of this impoverished region were forced to live without electricity, heat and water in sub-zero temperatures for far too long and although most of the power has been restored they have received very little of the help they need.

Due to an 80% unemployment rate and an average annual income of only $5,000 these families truly are struggling to survive even in normal conditions. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about the
disaster they are currently coping with and the poor living conditions they are faced with on a daily basis.

  • Thanks for having posted this. Your playing was quite nice. Just saw Clint at the Potomac Native American Flute Festival. I plan on pulling out one of his backing tracks and do a bit of improv as well. The NAF is such an awesome contribution to us two-leggeds; it gives voice to such deep feelings, from sorrow to joy.and everything in between.

  • thanks for this one Jim. It is full of emotion, distress but also hope. May those people be never forgotten anymore. All togeher we shall create a better world.
